Located at the Allen County Museum complex, the Children's Garden is a project of the OSU Extension, 4-H Master Gardeners and the Allen County Historical Society. This garden has grown to include over 30 mini-theme gardens and child-inspired works of art, with historical elements which relate to Allen County's rich history. It is an interactive green oasis for "children" of all ages.

Lima, OH Gardens A restored narrow-gauge geared locomotive, known as the Shay Locomotive, was built in 1925 by the Lima Locomotive Works and is located at the Allen County Museum Complex.
For a period of almost 70 years, the Lima Locomotive Works built 2,761 Shay locomotives, the last in 1945
